Colourful Grain Elevators

This photo was taken in Munson, Alberta in 1993. I don't think these grain elevators are any longer in existence.

Storm Clouds Over Two Small Prairie Towns: Sky Watch Friday

Dark and threatening storm clouds roll ominously above in the big sky over these two small Alberta prairie towns. Many of the signature grain elevators seen on the horizons once lent identification to these communities at a distant glance but today very few of these tall sentinels remain. These 35mm photos were taken in 1993.
My appreciative thanks to Tom Wigley for hosting Sky Watch Friday . To view other Sky Watch entries please visit Tom's page.

What could be more seasonal than finding Black-eyed Susans mixed in among a field of wildflowers.

Y is for Yellow Fields of Canola: ABC Wednesday

Alberta is one of Canada's Prairie Provinces and shown here is a canola crop growing as far as the eye can see. This is a wondrous sight under the big, blue, prairie skies and during a road trip to Alberta in 1993 I took many photos. These two photos have been scanned from 35mm prints.

Summer Garden: Lilies

Our lilies are just starting to come into bloom now, and while I wait I thought I would share some of the beautiful blooms from other summers past.

Wheel to the Sky: Sky Watch Friday

This wheel offered a bird's eye view to those who cared to take a ride! Also below, some chose to view the sky from the top of this lighthouse. While attending Canada Day Festivities on the first I immediatley thought of Sky Watch when I saw these two great views!
