winter 2012

The Mersereau stream

We don't have snow but we do have white highways due to the salt residue left on the roadways.
Evidence of a lightfooted passerby with an acceptable weight so as not to break through the surface

Winter, January 2012

I think this steam is saying, "I think I can, I think I can!" as it struggles to close the gap over this open flowing water water in this woodland stream.
good winter driving over and through thus covered bridge, just a few white sprinkles highlight the roadsides when this photo was taken.
there must have been a bumper crop of hay this summer past or there was no room left in the barn as I see a lot of rools of hay still left out in the fields this winter.

The winter scene this January.. love it!

Yesterday, January 2nd, 2012: This is my kind of winter! I love it and do not miss the snow!
The dark sky let loose with a few rice sized pellets of hail just as we left a store and scurried to our car but had the icy scourge had no lasting effect; it just created a minor surprise for us. Following is a favourite quote of mine; "If winter comes can spring be far behind?" ( Percy Bysse Shelley)
