Thankfully its not here yet! Yesterday afternoon, and no snow in sight. The day had started with rain, then the rain was mixed with snow, but there is no sign of it now!!!! I love a snowless season!

Raccoon Family On the move

While out looking for a yard sale this morning, we came upona raccoon family crossing the road.
There were three young ones if we consider that the smaller ones were this year's babies. The adult was in the lead which I would guess was the mother raccoon. They hurried across the road in front of our vehicle and all made it safely to the other side. Upon checking the side of the road that they had crossed to we saw four raccoons there together. A family we assumed!
And the picture above shows a bit of sibling togetherness!.. so sweet and cuddly looking.

But they did not stay there as the adult raccoon urged them on and the four continued on for more adventures of the day.

Covered bridge in the winter.

The roof over this covered bridge protects the wooden flooring of the bridge from winter snows and wet. The Smyth Covered Bridge crosses the South Oromocto River at Mill Settlement, near Hoyt in Sunbury County.

Shadows in my winter garden for Shadow Shot Sunday

The fence running along our back property line was highlighted by shadows this morning.

After a heavy snowfall yesterday a bright sun this morning created many striking shadows in our garden area. Above the strong sun shining on out garden bridge highlighted the uprights on our bridge below its railings

Looking over our backyard from an upstairs window the blue shadow areas created a beautiful landscape of our open lawn area. Oh, How I long for summer and days spent gardening out doors. soon, "IF winter comes , can spring be far behind?" Percy B. Shelley

A sign of the season

The driver of this snowplow will probably have a long day as we in the midst of a nor'easter and the weather office has forecast a heavy snowfall warning. A good day to sit by my fireplace with a good book (The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton)and a coffee. Have a good day everyone no matter what your weather situation is.
This highway shown above will be white by the end of the day. It is probably all white by now. safe Driving everyone. Be careful out there!
