I think this is a nice colour contrast here- it might even be an interesting photograph with the top third, i.e. the bridge itself, cropped out, throwing the total emphasis on the contrasts between the grass, the post, and the water.
Its sounds like a good possibility to me too; perhaps another posting another time. I appreciate your comment.
Of course, I really like it as you have it already as well...
...tho it really is less cluttered without
