Saints Rest Beach, Saint John

On this very hot, humid day; how wonderful it would be to go for a stroll along this beach looking out upon the Bay of Fundy.

Waterfall

I saw this waterfall several years ago along the Scotch Lake Settlement Road in York County, just a short distance from Bear Island. The small bridge on the road above marks its location.

Covered Bridge at Mill Settlement

An idyllic summer scene in NB, in this case an old covered bridge crossing over the waters of the South Oromocto River at Mill Settlement. Sometime, before 1841, William Scoullar had a lumber mill at Mill Settlement West.

Street Signs - What's in a Name?

The mention of an ancestoral gggrandfather by a viewer led me and my curosity to this beautiful street corner of Scoullar and Neptunus in Oromocto last weekend. The street sign is a nice way I think, to honour the memory of an early shipbuilder in this area. In 1847 William Scoullar built a ship of 800 tons at Oromocto, Sunbury County. The ship's name? The Neptuna.

Also, a William Scoullar was a member of the Provincial Legislature, representing Sunbury County for a number of years.
